Andrew Lincoln has joked about being given his “Jim’ll Fix It moment” on US telly.
Speaking before a special Q&A with fans at the PaleyFest in Beverly Hills, The Walking Dead actor revealed how he’s loved working Stateside on the hit zombie show.
“I always wanted to work out here but this was beyond all expectations,” he admitted. “It really was a ‘Jim’ll Fix It’ for me!
“There was always a part of me that wanted to come over here because it is where cinema really found its beginnings and a lot of my references are American.”
But the 37-year-old confessed that keeping up his American accent in-between takes did confuse his partner.
“It freaked my wife out!” he laughed. “She came on set after a couple of months and went ‘right, so you’re doing this all the time are you?’.”
Andrew explained: “The director asked me to do it and in fact it was a very useful thing because I didn’t want to be in the situation where I was worried about it. I wanted it to not even be a secondary thought, it just became very normal to do it.
“I’ve got zombies to worry about, I don’t want to be worrying about vowel sounds and things!” he laughed.
