Ann Widdecombe has promised to put on her best performance yet in next week’s Strictly Come Dancing.

After surviving the cut for a second week, the former MP was raring to get back on the dancefloor.

“We’ve got something so spectacular that even I’m surprised,” she said.

“I can’t wait ’til she shows me what it is,” her partner, Anton Du Beke, replied.

The former Tory MP for Maidstone and Weald stole the show at the weekend, earning a standing ovation for her quickstep routine.

Magician Paul Daniels failed to pull the rabbit out of the hat, and was voted off.

Ann, wearing a giant red feather boa, took part despite grieving for her brother Malcolm, who died last week.

The judges seemed mildly impressed, but Len Goodman told the staunch blue she had to change her body position, advising her: “You’ve got to lean to the left. I can tell you worked very hard, well done.”

Bruno Tonioli also seemed pleased, telling her: “You were dancing around around like the red menace.”
