Anneka Rice CONFIRMED at last for Strictly Come Dancing – ‘I haven’t danced since I was 7!’

Anneka doesn't fancy her chances of winning by the sounds of it!

Strictly Come Dancing has finally confirmed the worst kept secret in showbiz – yep, that Anneka Rice is taking part in the new series of the BBC1 hit.

The BBC announced that Anneka, best known for fronting the hugely popular TV series Treasure Hunt and Challenge Anneka, will be waltzing onto the dancefloor as the show returns this autumn.

And Anneka has already played down her dancing skills, saying that it’s a long time since she danced.

“I haven’t danced since I was 7 and Miss Beer sent me home from my ballet class because I was hopelessly uncoordinated,” she revealed.

“My family and friends haven’t seen me dance since, not at a wedding or round a handbag so it’s going to be a challenge for my partner. In fact I’ve asked for two, one on each side.

“I can’t see myself in a long frilly dress either. But I’m feeling recklessly excited. Strictly has always been my Autumn’s entertainment and now I’m part of it! My children will probably leave the country”.

The news was broken on BBC Radio 2 on the Steve Wright Show.

Anneka was strongly rumoured to be on Strictly Come Dancing last year, but she of course didn’t appear in the 2018 edition.

Since donning her jumpsuit on Treasure Hunt, Anna has been on loads of TV shows including more recently Celebrity Hunted and Channel 5’s Secrets of the National Trust.
