The This Morning star took to the stage for the 'End of the Show, Show'
We’re used to seeing him next to Holly Willoughby on This Morning, but Phillip Schofield shocked fans when he appeared on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway singing along to hit musical Joseph’s Technicolour Dream Coat.
Before he landed his job over on ITV, the 55-year-old previously starred in the production back in 1992.
And in celebration of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 70th birthday, Geordie hosts Ant and Dec invited the telly presenter down to reprise his role for an extra special performance of the composers best-loved musicals.
Stars including James Corden, Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry also took to the stage for the ‘End of the Show Show’ to perform alongside the cast of School of Rock and Cats.
But it was Phillip’s surprise guest appearance right at the end to sing ‘Any Dream Will Do’ which stole the limelight.
“Just screamed at the telly, got goosebumps & cried at Phillip Schofield appearing for the Joseph tribute”, said one excited Twitter user.
Another asked: “Phillip Schofield on Saturday Night Takeaway??? And can sing??? Why am i only just finding this out?”
While a third added: “What a fantastic show tonight, as always you never let us down, bringing on Philip Schofield on the end of the show, show was brilliant!!! You to are just the best”.
And they weren’t the only ones…
And it looks like Andrew Lloyd Webber was also impressed with the telly presenter and he decided to pick Phillip to make a West End star over James Corden AND Ant and Dec.
He joked: “Well this has been one of the toughest decisions of my career. There is only one man for the job. Phillip my dear boy – wonderful.
Although Phillip’s impressive voice come as no surprise to the composer, as he actually took over the lead role in the West End production of Joseph’s Technicolour Dream Coat from Neighbour’s star Jason Donovan back in 1991.
