Ant v Dec in charity chart battle

They are usually the best of mates but now Ant and Dec are going head to head in a chart battle.

For this Saturday’s Ant v Dec segment of their hit ITV1 show Saturday Night Takeaway, the boys have each recorded a charity single.

Team Ant is rocking out on S Club 7’s Don’t Stop Moving while Team Dec is taking on Wham’s 80s classic Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.

Both songs were made available for download on from 6am on Wednesday morning – the team that has their song downloaded the most number of times wins the challenge.

Downloads will be counted at 5pm on Saturday February 21 and the winner will be announced live during the show on Saturday night.

It costs 79p per download and at least 44p from each download will go to one of three charities – Childline, Help the Aged and The Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Geordie duo are no strangers to taking on the pop charts – as PJ and Duncan the boys enjoyed a string of hits in the early 90s including Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble and Our Radio Rocks.

The boys have already been canvassing for support. Ant told The Sun: “On the week of The Brits I’m bringing shame to the whole of the music industry by singing again.

“I used to be a rapper in PJ & Duncan, that’s what I’m reminding people, so they won’t expect anything extraordinary. I’m Dizzee Rascal-style.”
