Anton Du Beke recovers after emergency surgery

Anton Du Beke was reportedly rushed to hospital in agony suffering from a twisted colon.

The Strictly Come Dancing star had emergency surgery during which he also had his appendix removed, the Daily Mirror reports, and has since been recuperating for about a month.

Anton, 42, was apparently on holiday in Italy when he was suddenly taken ill. He managed to make it back to Britain and was immediately taken to hospital for an emergency operation.

After four weeks at home recovering, he was able to attend his best friend and dance partner’s Erin Boag’s wedding, also in Italy, earlier this month.

A friend said: “Anton was on a break in Italy when out of the blue, he was hit by this awful pain. He flew to England to get himself checked over and was suffering from a twisted colon.”

The TV dance star is now back at work this week, filming a new series of BBC show Hole In The Wall, in which he has taken over from Dale Winton as presenter.
