Anton Stephans has been voted off The X Factor leaving Simon Cowell with no further Overs acts in The X Factor.

The singer had a war of words with Radio 1 presenter Nick Grimshaw on Saturday, when the DJ described his performance as ‘fake’.

On Sunday he continued his criticism, asking Anton: “Are you tired?”

He added: “I think you sang that really well, but obviously Che’s my boy so I’m going to have to send you home.”

Anton had sung Bonnie Raitt’s I Can’t Make You Love Me, but after the public vote he finished in the bottom two along with Che Chesterman, who sang Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You.

Simon Cowell defended his act: “I really feel passionately about this, Anton. You’ve taken a lot of stick, some of it unnecessary. I’m saving you because as much as I like you Che, I’ve become good friends with Anton now.”

But Nick, Rita Ora and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini voted to keep Che in The X Factor.

Anton will, however, take part in The X Factor live tour.
