Arlene Phillips will return to judge Strictly Come Dancing on the live tour.

She will join Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman for the panel – while new judge Alesha Dixon was said to be ‘too busy with her music career’, according to friends who spoke to The Sun.

Tour bosses said: “We recognised that we had a winning formula with audiences, so at the end of the 2009 dates we asked Arlene to join next year’s tour.”

The tour will see stars from the current and past runs of the show perform in January and February next year.

Arlene told The Sun: “I like being a judge and I want to keep my hand in. It will be great to be with the boys again.

“We still talk all the time, but it will be great to be judging the dancers with them in January.

“Strictly hasn’t left my life. It’s still part of me. I’m still talking about it and I’ll probably talk about it forever.”
