Do you remember the Hoverboard from 1989’s Back to the Future II. I do – it’s been on my Christmas list for the last 21 years! And now, it seems, this iconic floating skateboard (a brightly-painted wooden prop in the original film) has become a thing of reality.
Young French artist Nils Guadagnin has created a Back to the Future-style hoverboard for an exhibition of antigravity technology. How does it work?
According to Nils, ‘Integrated into the board and the plinth is an electronic system which levitates the board. A laser system stabilizes the object in the air.’
The future is now!
