EastEnders legend Barbara Windsor has joined ITV’s popular daytime show This Morning in promoting the charity Take A Moment.

The campaign hopes to inspire people to get involved in volunteering, and raise money for ITV’s Text Santa charities, and Barbara has already volunteered at Age UK’s Anne Owens Centre in London.

“It only takes a moment and I tell you what – I feel absolutely wonderful,” said Barbara, who played Walford’s Peggy Mitchell from 1991 to 2010 and returns to EastEnders on Friday September 20 to visit her hospitalised son Phil.

This Morning is urging all its viewers to Take A Moment and perform a small meaningful act of kindness as part of the show’s 25th anniversary celebrations. The Government has pledged to donate £5 per act for the first 50,000 approved acts of kindness.

Original This Morning hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan also return to Liverpool’s Albert Dock to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary at the place where it all began, back in 1988.

Current presenters Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford join the couple for a mix of surprises and special guests – including Keith Lemon taking over the famous floating weather map!
