  4. Lights alive… An alien force uses pretty lights to lure silly human folk to their destruction in this derivative sci-fi flick.


  5. Despicable Me
  6. Melt in the middle… Steve Carell voices the character of Gru in this family animation about a supervillain whose encounter with three orphaned girls (eventually) melts his cold heart.

  7. Jackass 3D
  8. Cunning stunts… Johnny Knoxville and his band of merry men fill the screen with their elaborate pranks and hair-brained antics in the third movie outing of their MTV series spin-off.

  9. Saw 3D
  10. Bloody games… The seventh instalment of the horror franchise follows a group of Jigaw survivors as they find themselves, yet again, at the centre of a series of twisted and brutal ‘games’.

  12. Back in action… Bruce Willis heads a cast that includes Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren in this action-comedy about old people with guns.

  14. Status update… David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club) helms this drama about the trials and tribulations of the founding of Facebook.

  16. Fright night… The supernatural prequel to Oren Peli’s wildly successful 2009 chiller sees a family terrorised by sinister goings-on in their home. It’s like the first, only with some more people.

  17. Alpha and Omega
  18. Howlers… This animated adventure follows two wolves (voiced by Justin Long and Hayden Panettiere) at opposite ends of their pack’s social order, who must find their way home together after being snatched by a ranger.

  19. Another Year
  20. Seasons change… This already Oscar-tipped ensemble drama from Mike Leigh spends a year in the company of happily married couple, Tom and Gerri, and their less-than-happy friends.
