Billie Piper has pregnancy written into new play

Billie Piper is pregnant and has had her second pregnancy written into her new play, according to reports.

The star – who is married to actor Laurence Fox – is said to be 15 weeks’ pregnant and is due to begin performances of the Neil LaBute play Reasons To Be Pretty in London’s Almeida Theatre next month.

Michael Attenborough, the theatre’s artistic chief and director of the production, apparently told the Daily Mail Billie was reduced to tears after learning her pregnancy could be accommodated in the show.

“She was upset and told me she was pregnant,” said Michael.

“However, she was Neil LaBute’s and my first choice for the part – and fortunately the character is pregnant – so with a bit of judicious re-writing we’re all delighted she’ll be with us.”

“I told her that I’d love her to do it and she just wept on my shoulder,’ he added. “She thought that was it. She was thrilled.”

Billie and Laurence, who wed in 2007, are already parents to son Winston, who was born in October 2008.
