Who is in who is out as series 18 of The Only Way Is Essex draws to an end? There are ALWAYS casualties, as these ex stars can confirm...
As the final episode of this series of The Only Way is Essex looms large, which of the current cast will make it to the next?
Chloe and Courtney’s bust-up with Megan has been big in series 18, but have the single ladies done enough to make themselves interesting on screen? Has Danni and Lockie’s reunion bored us? Will Arg make the most of his bachelor pad? Will Jon’s rage make him too much of a liability to have on set?
Check out these faces who exited the show. Some quit, some were sacked – and some even made a comeback!
She was one of the stars of the first series, thanks to her on-off relationship with Mark Wright. But by series 5 it’s alleged that Lauren’s diva-like demands and bad-timing got her suspended! But Lauren’s announced she’s coming back ‘as Lauren’ in series 19.
One of the original stars, Kirk, son of Sugar Hut owner Mike Norcross, made it to series three. He was a ladies man with a very fiery temper. After an extended break, he returned in series 7 and lasted till partway through to the next before moving on… to other reality shows like Celebrity Big Brother!
A big presence on the show, ‘GC’, known for her fiery and frank outbursts. Gemma had a mega showdown in 2015, with Vas Morgan, while filming in Marbs and Essex, which allegedly led to her suspension after she stropped off set. She’s been seen on screen in series 18, rekindling her friendship with her former TOWIE sidekick Bobby (but mainly seeming a bit out of place).
The ladies man fell foul of TOWIE producers when a recording of an argument with a real-life girlfriend, who wasn’t on the show, became public. Having started in series eight, series 14 turned out to be Dan’s last as his suspension turned permanent. Had a baby girl, Ella, with partner EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa, in 2015.
Having joined midway through the first series, as Arg’s on-off childhood sweetheart and one-true love, Lydia chucked the towel in in series seven. After popping back for episodes series nine and 11, she made her proper return in series 12. An epic reunion with Arg looked set to last – but that failed and by series 18, Lydia was staunchly single.
His relationships with Ferne McCann and his sister Chloe were the subjects of many explosive storylines when Charlie joined in series nine. But when his long-term romance with Ferne broke down, Charlie was reported to have had enough of exposing his life on camera. With that being the whole point of the show, the producers decided series 14 would be his last.
He earned not one but two suspensions during his long run on TOWIE. The first came in series 12, when a dubious video of him emerged online, and the second, during series 15, when a post on his Twitter feed got him in big trouble.
Jess survived a whopping five years in the series, starring in the very first episode until she left at the end of series 16. When her break-up with Ricky Rayment became permanent, romances with Dan Edgar and Pete Wicks followed. Neither worked. Resurfacing in current series 18 to support Bobby – whose dog had died and was ‘friends’ with her dog – Jess claimed her appearance was only a cameo and she would not be returning for real.
Lovely, lovely Nanny Pat with her homemade sausage plaits and no nonsense advice were a fantastic addition to the series. The matriarch of the Wright family – and of the reality series itself – Nanny Pat starred in TOWIE from the very beginning until the last episode of series 16, which fittingly celebrated her 80th birthday with a royal-themed party. Fans and cast alike were devastated when she died in December 2015. She’s much, much missed on the show.
