Russell Brand has revealed he aims to be faithful to wife Katy Perry on a day-by-day basis.
The former sex and drug addict was asked in an interview for Piers Morgan’s Life Stories if he thought he would manage not to sleep with another woman for the rest of his life.
Russell said: “I take it one step at a time – like with drugs, like with alcohol.
“Don’t look at things as in ‘rest of life’. Of course marriage is for life and that’s what I wanted, but anything for the rest of life can be daunting.”
The 35-year-old comedian, who married 26-year-old Katy in India last October after a year of dating, claimed being with the Fireworks singer had changed him.
He said: “I can’t believe I used to have sex 20 times a week, especially now I’m married. But now I’m a b****y good gardener.”
Russell admitted marriage was hard work, but denied reports that the couple had sought the help of a marriage counsellor.
He said: “It’s difficult getting used to one person and being in the same house every day.
“See, if she leaves stuff lying around I have to deal with it. And if I leave stuff on the floor I have to pick it up. That confuses me. And she takes ages to get ready. It’s unbelievable. I had no idea what went on, I was never normally around for that bit.”
Asked about starting a family he said: “Yeah children, that’d be good, wouldn’t it? We haven’t been married very long, we’re both working very hard and I’m still excited and enchanted by her, but when we do I’m going to focus on it.”
