Amy Winehouse’s triumphant performance at the Brit Awards 2008 was all the more impressive given that she was almost kicked off the show after a wobbly rehearsal. The Rehab singer, who performed her hits Valerie and Love Is A Losing Game with gusto on the night, apparently sparked fears among the show’s bosses when she fell over during her practice session. A source told the Daily Mirror: “Amy was atrocious in the final rehearsals, she kept falling over. But she had had a couple of large drinks before she went on stage and she seemed out of it. “At that stage we were seriously considering pulling her out of the show.” The insider added that they had a contingency plan in case it didn’t work out. “We had a meeting with her record company in the afternoon, and whatever they did seemed to do the trick.
