Declan Donnelly will present live shows of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent without Ant McPartlin

But viewers will see Ant and Dec briefly reunited on screen during the audition stages which were pre-recorded in January.

Declan Donnelly will be flying solo again to present the live shows of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent which returns this weekend.

After presenting the final two shows of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway on his own last month, Dec is still without long-time presenting partner Ant McPartlin, who has stepped down from his TV commitments for the moment since being charged with drink driving.

However, viewers will briefly see Ant and Dec together again during the show’s audition stages which were filmed back in January.

The pair have presented Britain’s Got Talent since the show, created by Simon Cowell, began back in 2007. But there was speculation over the duo’s future with the show after they were left out of the promo trailer for the new series, which only features the judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.

Britain’s Got Talent returns Saturday 14th April at 8pm on ITV.
