Broadchurch will win big at the TV BAFTAs next month, according to bookmakers Ladbrokes.

The gripping ITV murder mystery is the odds-on favourite at 4/6 for this year’s Best Drama series. One of the show’s stars, double BAFTA winner Olivia Colman, is also hot favourite to win Best Actress, with the same odds, for her portrayal of DS Ellie Miller.

In other categories, the competition between the soaps is fierce, with EastEnders odds-on at 4/5 to win Best Soap and Continuing Drama while rival Coronation Street is at 2/1. Other nominees, the sister medical soaps Holby City and Casualty, are 5/1 and 7/1 respectively.

If Ladbrokes’ predictions come true it would mean EastEnders wins the coveted BAFTA for a second year in a row. EastEnders has won eight BAFTAS compared to Coronation Street’s six.

According to Ladbrokes, Breaking Bad is favourite to win Best International Series at 7/4, ahead of Netflix original series House of Cards, at 2/1. Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It’s a tight betting heat, but at the moment the odds favour Breaking Bad to get the nod over House of Cards.”
