Strictly Come Dancing host Bruce Forsyth has finally admitted he thought show bosses were wrong to sack Arlene Phillips as a judge.

In an interview for ITV1’s Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, to be shown next Saturday, the 82-year-old showbiz veteran says they should not have replaced Arlene, 66, with 31-year-old Alesha Dixon.

He said he felt ‘sad’ that TV remained ageist against women, telling Piers: “This ageism against women I think is terrible. I think Alesha did a wonderful job. But what I would have done, personally, I would have had five judges.”

Bruce also revealed how he lost his virginity in the back of a car.

The twice-divorced star – now married to third wife, former Miss World Wilnelia Merced – admitted his first time was with an unnamed former co-star in an Austin 10.

He joked: “There wasn’t much room, but we made the most of it.”
