Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli has said that this will be the sexiest final of the series yet – and that the race for the Glitterball trophy was by no means over.

Speaking to the Sun ahead of Saturday night’s show he said: “It’s good to have the girls on top – they are brilliant,” adding: “The best dancers are in the final.”

However he added: “Anything can happen” – hinting that runaway favourite Susanna Reid was by no means a cert to win.

“She has an amazing personality and she is radiant,” he said of the newsreader, although admitted she had “some weaknesses” in her Latin routines.

Meanwhile he said of second favourite Sophie Ellis-Bextor: “She has put the work in and come out with some amazing dances.”

And he praised Natalie Gumede’s skill as a dancer, saying “Oh pure technique she is amazing” – but Bruno appeared to be most surprised by Abbey Clancy’s prowess on the dancefloor.

“No-one expected Abbey to be so good,” he admitted.

“She has improved the most, it all comes naturally to her – and she is incredibly sexy.”

Strictly‘s final kicks off on BBC One at 6.30pm, with a second show at 8.40pm in which the winner will be crowned.
