Cheryl voted world’s sixth ‘most desirable’ woman

Cheryl Cole has been named one of the world’s most desirable women in a global poll.

The X Factor judge, who came sixth in the survey, is one of 15 Britons who made the list of 99 top beauties.

Other UK stars included Kate Beckinsale in 14th place and Emma Watson – who has played Hermione Granger in each of the Harry Potter films – at 17th.

Kate Middleton has been ranked number 61 in the poll, which saw five million people cast their votes.

The two women in Doctor Who star Matt Smith’s life were just one place apart in the list. Karen Gillan – who plays Amy Pond in the BBC1 series – was ranked 77, while Matt’s model girlfriend Daisy Lowe was 78th in’s most desirable women of 2011 list.

Number one was actress Blake Lively, star of US TV series Gossip Girl.

Australian model Miranda Kerr – wife of British actor Orlando Bloom – who became a mum last month for the first time, was placed fifth.

Drew Lubega, UK editor of said Kate Middleton was ‘the first genuinely glamorous British female royal since Princess Diana’.

He added: “It’s easy to see why Prince William has fallen for her and why she’s considered one of the most desirable women in the world today.

“She has all the raw ingredients that would make her an ideal catch in the eyes of 99 per cent of men, namely: style, intelligence, great looks, a huge sense of fun and an incredibly warm personality.”
