Chris Evans has ruled himself out of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, and urged fans to put a bet on him NOT competing.
The millionaire radio presenter and host of The One Show took to Twitter to deny reports that he has signed up to the BBC celebrity dance show.
Chris quipped: “William Hill are offering odds of 10/1 on me being in this year’s Strictly. Ask will they take a 100/1 against and then put yer shirt on it.
“Evans definitely not in Strictly ! Official. Same story last year. All helps fuel the launch fire. Good fun but absolutely nothing in it.”
Bookmakers still seemed convinced it was a double bluff though, as they slashed odds on Chris’s dancing debut to evens.
“Make no mistake this is a proper gamble and you can be certain that he is in the running,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams. “Gambles such as these are rarely wrong and his inclusion will be a real coup for that programme.”
Meanwhile, The Sun reported Strictly bosses are keen to sign Welsh fashion designer Julien Macdonald up to the show.
The former Britain’s Next Top Model judge is a big fan of the dance contest and regularly appears on spin-off show It Takes Two to comment on the costumes worn in the competition.
The newspaper claimed Julien – famous for his bright, sparkly dresses – is on the verge of signing a deal.
