Christine Bleakley says she is ‘not ready’ to think about starting a family with boyfriend Frank Lampard.
The presenter – who has dated the footballer for a year – said she loves children, but is not at the stage where she feels she can balance them with a career.
In an interview with Hello! magazine, Christine said: “I do love children, but I can’t even think about that at the moment. I’m in awe of women like Kate Garraway, who juggle it, but I’m not ready for it yet.”
She also gave an insight into the couple’s domestic bliss: “We enjoy our own little home life: cooking together, lighting candles, watching TV – and going to bed rather early! We’re very compatible.”
Christine, 32, said she and the Chelsea midfielder – who has two children from his relationship with Elen Rivas – tend to shun the usual showbiz haunts and prefer to go to ‘local Chinese and Indian’ restaurants.
“It’s not so difficult to keep under the radar if you want to,” she said.
Christine said they had ‘quite an old-fashioned courtship’ and he had the blessing of her close friend and Daybreak co-host Adrian Chiles.
“There was no one on this planet happier about me dating Frank than Adrian,” she tells Hello! “They get on really well. Adrian is more than thrilled about Frank and me.”
She and Adrian quit The One Show to take on the presenting job for ITV1’s Daybreak, which launched in September but had struggled to find an audience.
Christine said: “It’s been a bumpy ride, but I expected that. Everyone assumed we would walk in and all would be rosy. I genuinely didn’t. I’m shocked that people expected that.”
