Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 | Film review – Choc-full of foodie puns and scrumptious visuals

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 Young inventor Flint Lockwood and his friends return to the island of Swallow Falls to battle a plague of food monsters created by his malfunctioning machine in this deliciously nutty sequel to 2009’s animated hit. Little did Flint realise, but his invention that turned rainfall into junk food survived the events of the first story and the island is now full of shrimpanzees, melaphants and tacodiles… Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 doesn’t have the exuberant originality of its predecessor, but a screenplay stuffed choc-full of foodie puns, scrumptious visuals and tasty vocal acting from the likes of Bill Hader, Anna Faris and James Caan still add up to a toothsome treat for all the family.
