Coronation Street fans have been left devastated as Rana Nazir tragically dies in the Underworld factory roof collapse...
Coronation Street fans have taken to Twitter in their droves to reveal how tonight’s scenes that saw Kate Connor and Rana Nazir’s wedding day end in tragedy will haunt them forever.
The tragic scenes showed Rana fighting for her life as she was trapped under a metal beam in the factory roof collapse… on the very same day that she was supposed to be marrying her soulmate, Kate.
The scenes, which saw Kate initially talking to Rana on the phone as she lay trapped, before racing into the collapsed building to be by her fiancé’s side, left fans totally heartbroken…
The first of tonight’s two episodes started with Kate worrying that Rana had got cold feet when she was late for their wedding.
But unbeknownst to Kate and the rest of the cobbles’ residents, Rana was caught up in the roof collapse drama after she went back to the office to get her bag before heading to say ‘I do’.
As news of the disaster got back to Kate, she jumped in a taxi and races back to the Street to be closer to Rana, but with the police blocking the way in to the factory, Kate was forced to talk to Rana on the phone from outside the building.
The pair kept talking through almost the entire episode, telling each other how much they meant to one another. But it wasn’t enough for Kate and she was desperate to be by Rana’s side.
When news that Rana wasn’t likely to get out alive got to Kate and Rana’s brother, Imran, the pair came up with a plan to get Kate inside the factory.
As Imran distracted the police by causing a scene, Kate ducked under the police tape and ran into the building.
Despite everyone’s protests, Kate made it to her fiancé’s side and the pair exchanged the vows that they should have said at their wedding in heartbreaking scenes.
As they swapped rings, Kate went to kiss her bride… but it was too late. Rana had tragically died, leaving Kate, and Coronation Street fans across the nation devastated.
As the news of Rana’s demise made its way to those waiting outside, life on the cobbles will never be the same again.
And how is Kate going to cope without the love of her life, especially so soon after losing her brother Aidan?
