It’s a day of sadness and reflection in Weatherfield as Blanche’s family and friends gather for her funeral.
The Street icon was portrayed by actress Maggie Jones, who died last year.
With preparations for Blanche’s funeral almost complete, the Barlows look on as the hearse begins its journey to the church.
Before the service starts, the mourners turn to watch Blanche’s granddaughter, Tracy, arrive handcuffed to a prison guard.
Tracy is delighted to see her family again and gives her mum a tender hug.
But she is less than pleased when she spots Becky about to lead Amy into the church.
The youngster, however, stays with Becky and appears unsettled in the presence of her jailed mum.
Inside the church, the moving service gets underway…
…and Deirdre pays an emotional and fitting tribute to her departed mum.
Afterwards, Tracy’s guard grants her a couple of minutes to say goodbye to Amy.
The atmosphere sours, though, when Amy blurts out that she is going to become a McDonald.
Livid, Tracy immediately moves to confront Steve and Becky.
Steve tries to keep Becky calm, but Tracy suddenly lunges at her.
Taken completely by surprise, Tracy’s prison guard struggles to restrain her.
Meanwhile, Steve tries to hold back an enraged Becky as she attempts to lash out at Tracy.
Eventually, Tracy is dragged away, vowing that she will do anything to prevent her daughter growing up without her…
…even if it means she has to escape from prison! Watch Blanche’s dramatic funeral on Coronation Street on Monday, 10 May.
