Gemma Winter comes up with a drastic plan when things go wrong for her and Chesney...
Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) will be hit by the massive bombshell news that she’s pregnant in Coronation Street this week – and it’s been revealed that her plan is to leave Weatherfield for good!.
After a night out Gemma feels ill and unable to go to Bertie’s Christening, leaving Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) angry because he suspects she has a hangover.
Gemma then confides in Rita that she’s read the texts Chesney sent to Tyrone and she fears they’re relationship could be over.
So, when Gemma learns she’s pregnant she decides not to tell Chesney the news and the show’s official site has revealed that’s there’s more problems ahead.
For starters, it seems Chesney might jump to the wrong conclusion when he sees Gemma being comforted by Ryan.
And it appears the strain of the situation soon gets all too much for Gemma and she hits on a drastic plan…
“Gemma tells Paul she’s planning on leaving the Street to live with their mum!”
So, does this mean we’ve seen the last of Gemma in Weatherfield? Well, the official site adds: “Can Paul talk Gemma out of leaving, or will she be leaving for good?”
Can Chesney work out what’s going on with Gemma before it’s too late?
Talking about why things are turning sour between Gemma and Chesney, Dolly recently told TV Times: “The initial excitement of being together has worn off, and they’re getting on each other’s nerves as the reality of living together sinks in. They have very different personalities.
“He’s responsible, whereas she’s impulsive. When Chesney was just a friend, Gemma saw the best of him, but now she’s seeing the domesticated side.”
Coronation Street continues on ITV.
