Corrie stars rush to congratulate Julia on her happy news
Coronation Street star Julia Goulding has announced that she’s pregnant with her first child.
The 34-year-old actress, who plays Shona Ramsey in the ITV soap, married her husband Ben Silver back in February.
And now Julia has revealed on Instagram that the couple are expecting the patter of tiny feet later this year.
Sharing the happy news, Julia said: “Ben an I are absolutely delighted to announce that we are expecting our first baby at the end of this year! We are absolutely overjoyed and can’t wait to meet our little one.”
Her Coronation Street co-stars, including Lucy Fallon who plays Bethany, and Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria, were quick to send their congratulations to Julia.
When she married Ben in February she fittingly for an actress said her nuptials on stage – in Manchester’s Albert Hall. Julia previously told OK! magazine: “I love being on stage and I always wanted to get married on one!”
Julia first arrived as Shona back 2016 and quickly caused a stir when she was revealed to be the mother of Kylie Platt’s killer, Clayton Hibbs.
She caused more controversy on the cobbles when she then began a relationship with Kylie’s widower, David Platt.
Julia has revealed in the past how much she loves being in Corrie. “Every now and again, you’re walking around and it’ll hit you – ‘Oh my God, I’m on Coronation Street!’” she said. “It can be something as simple as standing in the queue at the canteen. Even if I’m there in 60 years’ time, I think I’ll still get that buzz.”
Coronation Street continues on ITV.
