The Chesney actor is getting married to yoga teacher Briony Gardner
Coronation Street star Sam Aston, who plays Chesney Brown, has revealed that his wedding to yoga teacher fianceé Briony Gardner will take place in May.
The 25 year old let slip the month of his nuptials whilst discussing his Easter plans in an interview for TVTimes – but kept mum about the exact date.
Revealed Sam: “I don’t have much planned (for the Easter weekend). I won’t be doing anything too adventurous – I’m trying to save money and be good at the minute, because I’m getting married in May.
“Everything’s happening at once, and I’m trying to eat well and stay off the beer – I want to look good for the photos!
“I don’t really eat Easter eggs – I’m not a massive chocolate person; I can take it or leave it. A pint and a packet of crisps is my vice. I might get Briony one, but nothing too big – she needs to fit into her wedding dress!”
The Weatherfield actor proposed to long-term partner Briony in 2016, at the annual charity golf event that he hosts with Corrie co-stars Alan Halsall and Andrew Whyment, held at Manchester’s swanky Worsley Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club.
After getting up on stage in front of hundreds of other guests for a Mr and Mrs’ style game, he told the blonde beauty that he had his own question to ask – then proceeded to whip out an engagement ring.
The couple have been together since 2009, after meeting at a drama workshop in Bury. Ahead of their big day, Sam recently enjoyed a boozy stag weekend in Edinburgh, in which his co-stars dressed him up in a ginger wig and a short kilt.
Speaking of his decision to marry at a relatively young age, Sam has previously said: “I’ve always felt old before my time – I’ve been working since I was about five! We’ve also been together for a long time, so it just feels right, and I don’t feel like I want to wait.”
