Coronation Street’s Samia Longchambon reveals she’ll be involved in ‘old-school Corrie’ storyline

Maria Connor is about to be embroiled in a dramatic new storyline - and, according to her, it's classic Coronation Street.

Speaking to The Express, Samia revealed a new twist to her current storyline. Maria was about to join forces with Claudia Colby, who offered her the chance to run one of her salons in Weatherfield.

After years of working under Audrey Roberts, this is a dream opportunity for Maria. And with the financial backing of Carla Connor, everything looked to be falling into place.

However, when Carla backed out, Maria’s plans appear to be scuppered – until Coronation Street veteran Rita Sullivan steps in.

“Rita overhears Maria saying that she needs a new investor,” actress Samia Longchambon told The Express.

“Rita has come into a bit of money and doesn’t know what to do with it, so she sees Maria’s salon as a great opportunity.

Maria chats to Claudia

“Maria is over-the-moon, because she’s known Rita for years and Rita is happy to be a sleeping partner, so as far as Maria is concerned Rita isn’t going to try to take over. It’s the ideal scenario.”

She added: “It feels like a proper old-school Corrie storyline, where the women are all bickering. I couldn’t ask for more.”

Will Maria’s dream come true? You’ll have to tune in to find out…

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
