This was one of the worst box office flops in Hollywood’s history.
It’s not difficult to see why.
It’s the story of an urban yummy mummy (Uma Thurman hang your head in shame!) who spends a day juggling the demands of motherhood while her bland hubby is at work.
She takes her two kids to the playground, she walks the dog, she attempts to park the car without getting a ticket, she buys a few things for her daughter’s sixth birthday party and jots down a few thoughts in a blog. That’s it.
To activate the sound in the trailer: hold your cursor over the screen to reveal the control panel and click on the volume control in the bottom right-hand corner.
It’s not funny and it’s not entertaining.
If you want to see the funny side of New York yummy mummies, guaranteed giggles can be had watching Jennifer Aniston‘s Rachel grappling with motherhood in Friends, or Cynthia Nixon buckling under the pressure as Miranda in Sex and the City, or Kristin Davis blubbing about the strains of child rearing despite the presence of her full-time nanny in Sex and the City 2.
Anyway, just so you know when to avoid it, Motherhood is showing on Sky Movies Premiere today, Tuesday 31st August at 4.10pm, and at various afternoon timeslots throughout the week.
