The Stepford Wives

A husband and wife move to an attractive, well-maintained small town and attempt to make a home for themselves within their new community of blissfully contented neighbours.

However, beneath the seemingly perfect façade lurks a hideous secret.

Nicole Kidman

Yes, that’s right, and the hideous secret is that this film is not the brilliant, culturally relevant 1970s chiller starring Nanette Newman.

Glenn Close

No, it’s the 2004 version, and while it may look good on the surface with its high production values and star-studded cast including Nicole Kidman, Glenn Close, Matthew Broderick, Bette Midler, Christopher Walken and Faith Hill, this black comedy version of the Ira Levin novel is a huge disappointment, and it was universally panned.
