In the 2001 film 3000 Miles to Graceland, Kevin Costner, Christian Slater, David Arquette, Bokeem Woodbine and Kurt Russell star as Elvis impersonators involved in a Las Vegas bank robbery.

But for Russell, this wasn’t the first time he’d channelled The King. Back in the late 1970s he starred as Presley in the award-winning biopic Elvis, and in the 1990s he provided the voice of the singer in Forrest Gump.

So, how come there’s been such a Presley presence in Kurt‘s career?

Who knows, but maybe something was ignited back in the 1960s when Russell appeared as a small child in the musical Elvis Presley film It Happened at the World’s Fair.

3000 Miles to Graceland is showing tonight – Tuesday 15th November – on TCM at 10.45pm.
