CSI has a new cyber crime spin-off show in the works.
The hit police drama series is turning its attentions to online crime for a new show for American channel CBS, according to TV Line.
It will focus on Avery Ryan, the Special Agent in charge at the cyber crime division of the FBI in Virginia, who is tasked with solving crimes that start out online and then cross over into the real world.
Avery is based on real-life cyber psychologist Mary Aiken, a producer on the show, and the character will be introduced in an episode of the main series of CSI currently screening in the US.
Other spin-offs CSI: Miami and CSI: NY are off air now, but the original programme still draws in large audiences each week and is in its 14th season.
