Denis was a true TV legend

ITV will screen a special tribute show in honour of It’ll Be Alright On The Night host Denis Norden, who has died aged 96.

In a late change to its evening schedule following the news of the star’s death, ITV will now screen All the Best From Denis Norden at 10.45pm.

The tribute show will replace sports-based comedy show Play to the Whistle, which was originally scheduled to be on tonight.

The new ITV schedule reads:

10.00pm ITV News at Ten

10.45pm All the Best From Denis Norden

Comedian Keith Lemon and BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker were among the stars paying tribute to the former host of It’ll Be Alright On The Night.

Dan wrote on Twitter: “Sad news about the death of Lord of the Clipboard Denis Norden.

Keith, whose real name is Leigh Francis, shared a picture of the host on Instagram, writing: “Sad news about Denis Norden RIP.”

ITV recently made a late change to its schedule when Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds died.

The It’ll Be Alright On The Night host died on Wednesday morning after spending “many weeks” at the Royal Free Hospital in north London, a statement from his children, Nick and Maggie Norden, issued to the Press Association said.
