Dr Ranj Singh performed a Quickstep to 'Prince Ali' from Aladdin... but that's not all he did!
Dr Ranj Singh used sign language on Strictly Come Dancing last weekend – and fans love it!
The hugely popular CBeebies star went on Instagram today to highlight the fact that he and his pro dance partner Janette Manrara used sign language after he took to the stage in his Aladdin performance.
“We were proud to sign ‘glitter ball’ on @bbcstrictly on Saturday night… our little bit to highlight the importance of inclusion”.
And people took to Twitter to praise Dr Ranj for using sign language on the BBC show. One wrote: “I love that @JManrara and @DrRanj signed ‘glitter ball’ on @bbcstrictly, as someone who uses sign language it was nice to see it on my favourite show.”
One viewer tweeted: “Incredible @DrRanj that you @JManrara are promoting signing. BSL should be used in schools more. ALL 3 of my children used baby sign and still sign now. So important for inclusion for all.”
Another wrote: “It was fabulous! Could you sign something every week????”
For anyone wanting to learn some useful Strictly Come Dancing signing, here goes…
Dr Ranj got through to the next round of Strictly despite not impressing the judges over the weekend, with Craig Revel Horwood only giving him a four. But Dr Ranj does seem to be very well supported. CBeebies presenter Andy Day was spotted in the audience cheering him on.
And the medic also revealed that none other than former EastEnders star Martine McCutcheon also appears to be part of his fan club! He wrote on Instagram: “Look who popped in to say hi! @martinemccutcheon.”
After the razzle dazzle of Movie Week, there’ll be no specific theme on Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday – just a mix of classic ballroom and Latin routines. Can Dr Ranj Singh make it through another week on the BBC1 hit?
