DVD review | Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II – The wizarding saga goes out with a bang

After ten years and eight films, the Harry Potter saga reaches its conclusion – and it’s spellbinding.

Picking up the action where the last film left off, The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 grips from the start. With the end in sight, there’s a real sense of urgency about the storytelling as Voldemort’s army of Death Eaters prepares to launch a final assault on Hogwarts, and Harry, Ron and Hermione race against time to find the final fragments of the Dark Lord’s soul in order to defeat him.

Be prepared for a dark and thrilling ride: we’re a long way from the high jinks and humour of earlier episodes. The boy wizard and his friends have grown up – and so have the actors playing them. Daniel Radcliffe, in particular, has matured enormously. When the final showdown takes place, Radcliffe holds his own in the acting face-off with Ralph Fiennes, just as courageous, good-hearted Harry proves to be a match for the evil Voldemort.

Released on DVD & Blu-ray on Friday 2nd December by Warner Home Video.
