Unknown - Liam Neeson as Dr Martin Harris

Liam Neeson plays an amnesiac scientist in Unknown, an outlandish Bourne-style conspiracy thriller, which rushes though a series of twists and turns at such a pace that the viewer scarcely has time to draw breath let alone ponder the implausibility of the plot. Neeson is visiting Berlin for a biotechnology conference when his taxi gets involved in a car smash. Awakening in hospital after four days in a coma, he discovers his wife (Mad Men‘s January Jones) no longer recognises him and another man (Aidan Quinn) has assumed his identity. Has the trauma of the crash turned him crazy? Or are dirty deeds afoot? With only Diane Kruger‘s taxi-driver to turn to, Neeson must dodge shadowy assassins to discover the truth. The plot may be tosh, but Neeson is as rugged and commanding as ever, even when his character fears he may have lost his mind. Great fun if you can suspend your disbelief.

Released on DVD & Blu-ray by Optimum Home Entertainment on 18th July.
