EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer on ‘disaster’ Whitney wedding twist as Bianca returns

‘like any Walford wedding, things don’t quite go to plan…’ teases Patsy

A huge week in EastEnders kicks off on Monday 26th August, as Callum and Whitney’s will-they-won’t-they wedding rolls around, Mel and her on-the-run son Hunter attempt to flee, and two MAJOR characters return.

As has been widely reported, Bianca Jackson is one familiar faces, the other Lisa Fowler.

During a break from filming at Elstree Studios, where the soap is made, actress Patsy Palmer, who’s reprising her role playing Bianca, admitted her return has felt like coming home…

“It’s been five years but there’s something about this place, it gets into your DNA. It almost becomes a part of you and when you’ve been in the show so long it becomes a second home, you can switch between your family at home and your work family.”

EastEnders Bianca and Tiffany

Can Bianca solve Whitney’s wedding wobbles in EastEnders?

Bianca – who has been living in Milton Keynes – was formerly one of EastEnders’ best-loved characters, who burst on to the scene in 1993 and stayed on and off for over a decade. Bianca was hard up but would do anything for her clan. Which is why Bianca returns…

“Bianca comes back for Whitney [her adoptive daughter] and Callum’s wedding,” explained Patsy. “But like any Walford wedding, things don’t quite go to plan… at all. Bianca ends up getting in trouble with Kat and it all ends in disaster. It’s a classic race to the wedding and whether or not they’ll even make it in time.

She continued: “I’ve always thought that if there was a big storyline, like a wedding or something, where it would be weird if Bianca wasn’t there, I would go back. But this is the first time I’ve been asked since I last left.”

Within no time, Bianca’s got loads of problems to sort: Whit’s wedding wobbles, her teenager daughter Tiffany’s tearaway past. But she’s got issues of her own, too.

“Bianca’s got a lot of stuff going on that nobody knows about,” revealed Patsy. “I don’t want to give anything away, but viewers will learn in the coming weeks why Bianca’s been so quiet and what’s been going on.”
