Lucy Benjamin says she could be interested in possible return as Lisa Fowler...
EastEnders favourite Lucy Benjamin has revealed that she’d be keen to return to Albert Square as Lisa Fowler “if the story was good”.
Lucy was last seen as Lisa back in 2017, when her daughter, Louise Mitchell, was hospitalised after being burned by bullies.
Lisa left soon afterwards, with her fragile health in decline, after trying to snatch Louise.
Now, the 48-year-old actress – who also reprised the part in a recent podcast – has revealed that she could be up for another return to EastEnders.
Talking to metro.co.uk, Lucy said: “I’d gone back and had a really fabulous storyline with Lisa being off her medication and the last thing John Yorke signed off before he left was this podcast to revisit Lisa and Mel and it was lovely to work with Tamzin [Outhwaite] again.
“It’s lovely with Lisa because I can pick her up and leave her alone – I know that character inside out. It’s always a delight to go back and play her I have to say.
“So yeah I would consider everything that gets thrown my way. If the timing was right and the story was good – I loved working with Tam, we had a great time and their relationship was quite iconic so I would absolutely consider it yeah.”
And we know that Tamzin Outhwaite, who plays Mel, would love for Lucy to make a comeback. She previously said: “I’d love to work with Lucy again, we used to have a brilliant time.”
Tamzin also reckoned that Mel could do with some female mates in Albert Square! “I’d love Mel to have some female friends.”
Lucy was first seen as Lisa in EastEnders way back in 1998. Meanwhile, outside of the soap Lucy has enjoyed roles in a number of TV shows, including Detectorists, Casualty and The Bill.
