EastEnders star Jake Wood confirmed for new series of Strictly Come Dancing

EastEnders bad boy Jake Wood is heading for the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor.

Jake plays womaniser Max Branning in the BBC soap. Away from Albert Square he is a father-of-two who enjoys rock-climbing, running, cycling and boxing.

“I’m doing it for all the dads out there and, you never know, there’s always a chance of being the first Walford resident to take home the glitter ball… Bring it on!” says Jake.

Jake is the eighth of 15 celebrities who will be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2014. The seven other celebs already named are: Casualty star Sunetra Sarker, Mark Wright, who shot to fame on reality show The Only Way Is Essex, singers Simon Webbe and Frankie Sandford, former rugby player Thom Evans, TV presenter Alison Hammond, tennis ace Andy Murray’s mum Judy and seven other celebrities as they compete for the glitter ball trophy.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC1 for a 12th series in September.
