Jordan may be home from hospital, but Lucas is becoming increasingly unhinged as his son’s attacker, Ben, prepares for his trial.
Phil, too, is agitated – and his mood is not helped when Ian informs him that he wants to look after Ben once the troubled teenager’s ordeal is over.
Phil is further enraged when he gets a visit from a social worker, who wants to take a closer look at his family life.
The day before the trial, Phil’s nerves are getting the better of him. And Shirley is not pleased to catch him adding some whisky to his coffee!
Meanwhile, over at the Johnsons’, DC Walker drops in to see how Jordan is progressing.
Realising the extent of the punishment Ben could be facing, Jordan decides to change his statement, admitting to Denise that he provoked Ben into attacking him.
At the trial, Ben is not charged, as the case is deemed serious enough to be sent to the crown court. Phil discusses the possibility of prison with his son over fish and chips.
Ben tries to put on a brave face for his dad, but Phil can see his son is petrified at the prospect of jail.
