After an intense battle, Emma’s Imagination was crowned the winner of Sky 1 music talent search Must Be The Music on Sunday night.

Emma’s Imagination, who is Scottish singer Emma Gillespie, fought off stiff competition from five other finalists to clinch the title and win £100,000 to kick start her career.

Emma received an overwhelming majority of votes after performing two of her self-penned tracks, Focus and This Day, which judge Dizzee Rascal said: “That was beautiful and I think you’re a star already”.

At hearing her name being called out, a stunned Emma said: “Thank you so much for all the support, I couldn’t have done it without you – I just can’t get my head around it”.

Emma was one of six finalists, including; Irish fiddler, Daithi O’Dronai, duo Pepper & Piano, 11-year old harpist and singer Hero, rock band The Pictures and Indie group Missing Andy, that performed at Wembley Arena infront of judges Dizzee, Jamie Cullum and Texas singer Sharleen Spitteri.

After being crowned the winner, Emma treated the audience to another performance of her winning song, This Day.

When the show finished, Emma was Number 12 in the iTunes chart and Number 12 in the alternative chart.
