Ex-Home and Away star Luke Mitchell has made a splash in Hollywood.

After landing his first Stateside role in the remake of cult British sci-fi series, The Tomorrow People, Luke (pictured in the centre of the photo above) has already been given the thumbs-up as one of TV’s newest breakthrough stars and definitely one to watch!

In The Tomorrow People, which is due to be shown in the UK on E4 in January, Luke plays John Mitchell, a young man who can teleport. John is one of several people who discover they have special powers, and soon find themselves being hunted by a sinister organisation who want to neutralize them.

“The pilot episode of The Tomorrow People is great,” says Luke. “But after that the series just keeps getting better and better. Some really epic things start to happen. As soon as a new script is released the cast are like, ‘Where is it? We have to see it! We have to find out what happens next!’

Unfortunately, the news is not so good for Luke’s real-life wife, Rebecca Breeds who also quit Home and Away to launch a Hollywood career. Rebecca landed a lead role in a new comedy, We Are Men. But the series has already been axed after just a few episodes, performing badly in the TV ratings.
