EXPLOSIVE new Casualty trailer… will Ethan Hardy survive?

It's not looking good for doctor Ethan Hardy when he's caught in a bomb explosion! Plus, a SNEAK PEAK at what's in store in Casualty this Autumn.

Casualty has a released a new trailer previewing some of the action to come, as Series 34 of BBC One’s long-running medical drama starts this Saturday.

And it’s not looking good for Ethan Hardy (played by George Rainsford) when the medic finds himself caught-up in a terrorist attack at a local market. Will he survive?

But wait, there’s more!

“Ethan, David and Dylan [George Rainsford, Jason Durr and William Beck] are very big in the new series,” reveals showrunner Lucy Raffety. “The theme is ‘The NHS Under Pressure.’ It’s about our medics working in a system that’s creaking at the joints.

“There’s a lot more to come from Marty and Jade [Shaheen Jafargholi and Gabriella Leon] too,” says Lucy. “We get to see more about Marty’s family. Later on, we learn more about Jade, who grew up in foster homes.

“New porter Rosa, played by Cold Feet star Jacey Salles, challenges David in all sorts of ways!” reveals Lucy. “There’s an interesting story between the two of them that goes well into the new series.

“Dylan has a story starting at the beginning of the new series,”adds Lucy. “Ethan’s also very big… It all kicks off! He goes on a big old journey…”

Also, watch out for the arrival of an over confident new junior doctor, Mason (played by Victor Oshin, who has previously portrayed Othello on stage), who doesn’t make a great first impression on his work colleagues.

“I am super excited to be joining the Casualty family and I can’t wait to start this journey with such a talented cast and crew,” says Victor.

Victor makes his first appearance as Mason on Saturday 24th August.

Casualty (Series 34) starts this Saturday 17th August at 9:20pm on BBC One
