Producers of the new animated ITV series Thunderbirds Are Go have released a trailer which gives fans an exclusive first look at the new Tracy Island.

The video gives gives a full tour of International Rescue’s headquarters and its surroundings. We get to see inside the HQ, from the sunken lounge area to the famous retracting swimming pool from which the agents fly their FAB crafts.

The amazing scenery was all hand-made into miniature sets and created by New Zealand-based model making company WETA Workshop. And the reboot of the classic 1960s puppet series has been produced using a mix of CGI animation and live-action model sets to create a new level of action-adventure animation.

Executive producer Giles Ridge said: “It’s great to have the chance to give fans a sneak peak at the home of Thunderbirds. Tracy Island was a much loved feature of the original show, so it felt right that we showcase our new-look location with the show’s followers.”

British actress Rosamund Pike will provide the voice of Lady Penelope, while David Graham, who voiced her chauffeur Aloysius Parker in the original show, will reprise his role in the new series.

The show will air on ITV and CITV in May 2015.
