Frozen freezes out competition at The RAFAs

The Animated Film of the Year at The Richard Attenborough UK Regional Film Awards went to Disney’s hugely popular Frozen, in a public vote sponsored by What’s On TV’s Movie Talk blog.

Other awards announced on Tuesday night at The Cafe de Paris in London’s West End included:

Film of the Year: Steve McQueen’s searing historical drama 12 Years a Slave

British Film of the Year (in another public vote): Stephen Frears’ heartwarming true-story Philomena starring Dame Judi Dench

Director of the Year: Alfonso Cuaron for the space saga Gravity

Actor of the Year: Chiwetel Ejiofor as Solomon Northup in McQueen’s Film of the Year

Actress of the Year: Cate Blanchett for her leading role in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine
