Geri Halliwell’s return to The X Factor has reportedly been less than successful, after all of the judges voted against her joining them on a permanent basis.
According to the Mirror the Spice Girls star – who joined the judges for the first round of auditions in Liverpool – was booed by the audience, with the others members saying they would prefer to have Sharon Osbourne back as a permanent judge than have Geri in their ranks.
“I’d love Sharon to come back – she’s the ultimate female boss,” Tulisa Contostavlos said before the second round of auditions at London’s O2 Arena.
And Gary Barlow added, “Sharon isn’t a stupid suggestion. She’d be amazing.
He also said of Geri, “I don’t think the audience liked her. She got booed. I like Geri, I’ve known her for years. She’s got a good energy but I just don’t know whether I would want her as a judge to be honest.”
“I know she’s done it in the past and I liked her on Popstars.”
Leona Lewis became the latest guest judge to join the panel at the London auditions on Saturday, with a string of other temporary names lined up to fill the gap as the search continues for a permanent replacement for Kelly Rowland.
Nicole Scherzinger and current chart-topper Rita Ora are also due to appear at the London auditions, while Geri’s Spice Girl colleague Mel C will take part in the auditions in Manchester.
