We didn’t see this coming…

She rose to fame in 2006 after winning the Great British Bake Off – but now Candice Brown is undertaking a surprising new career.

The 34-year-old is swapping piping for pulling pints after revealing she is about to become landlady of her very own pub.

Hoping to open the doors to the public in mid-February, Candice and her family bought an ‘incredible’ pub in Eversholt called The Green Man.

‘I’ve just bought a pub, I want to do the best Sunday lunches, and comforting, warming and hearty food,’ she told Bang Showbiz.

‘I’m an ambassador for Love British Food, so I work with the farmers to promote that seasonal and local produce is when food is at its best.

‘It’s called The Green Man in Eversholt, I’m hoping it will be open in mid-February, it’s so exciting. I was brought up in pubs with my brother and I want this to be a real family affair.’

Candice is also hoping to channel her inner Peggy Mitchell.

She added: ‘I would love to be able to go, “Get out of my pub!” I’m dying to do that, but it won’t be that sort of pub, I think.’

The former teacher is hoping to turn the family venture into one of the country’s top gastro pubs serving mouth-watering Sunday roasts and the best British food.
