Hambleton-Jones: ‘I’d work with Vorderman’

Nicky Hambleton-Jones has said she would like to team up with Carol Vorderman for a new show – because they have both been replaced by younger presenters.

Nicky, 38, was replaced by 30-year-old Myleene Klass on makeover show 10 Years Younger, while maths whiz Carol left Countdown after being forced to take a 90 per cent pay cut and was also traded in for a younger model.

Asked whether they could work together, Nicky said: “It’s a good idea, she’s great. She’d be a really good person, as she looks fantastic for her age and we’ve both been through similar experiences.”

She continued: “I think how she was treated was not great but at the same time I think it’s going to be great for Carol in the long-term. She’s got a great profile and she’s got the sympathy of the public so I think she’ll do well.”

Nicky is still based in the UK to promote her new eyewear range and a women’s lifestyle exhibition at London’s Earls Court called The Glam Show – but after that she may consider a move to the US.

“I wouldn’t rule out going to the US because they love foreigners and they love the whole stern, talking you down way. At the moment I’m UK focused but who knows?” she said.
