Hannibal: Season Two | Mads Mikkelsen’s gourmet cannibal psychiatrist is back. Tuck in!

Anyone dismayed at the way in which Anthony Hopkins’ portrayal of cannibal psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter tipped over from the suave malevolence of his Oscar-winning performance in 1991’s The Silence of the Lambs into camp, cartoon-like villainy for 2001’s Hannibal, will be cheered by Mads Mikkelsen’s subtle reinvention of the character for TV. The second series finds his Hannibal becoming a consultant to Laurence Fishburne’s FBI Special Agent Jack Crawford, while his psychiatric patient, FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), languishes in a mental asylum, accused of his doctor’s crimes. And those grisly crimes, and the gruesome but stylish gastronomic feasts that ensure from them, are what make the show such a treat… if you have the stomach.

HANNIBAL, THE COMPLETE SEASON TWO, featuring 13 episodes, is released on DVD and Blu-ray by StudioCanal.
